Dodge is back with a new line of RAM 1500 trucks. This year, the all-new 2022 Dodge RAM 1500 trucks have been released with five different engine types, albeit with the same transmission and drivetrain.
Out of the five new 2022 RAM 1500 engines, two are V6 and the rest are V8. The most basic engine that comes standard with the entry level trim of the 2022 RAM is a 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar with eTorque hybrid technology. The engine produces 365HP and has a maximum towing capacity of 7,730 pounds. The other V6 engine is a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 that produces 260HP but has a towing capacity of 12,560 pounds thanks to the higher torque.
Next, we have a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 producing 395 HP and having 11,610 pounds of maximum towing capacity. The 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with eTorque takes it up a notch with a towing capacity of up to 12,750 pounds. It produces the same 395HP as the non-eTorque V8.
The biggest and most powerful engine is a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 which produces a whopping 702HP and can take the truck from 0-60mph in just 4.5 seconds.
All engines come with an 8-speed automatic transmission which ensures smooth and consistent power delivery throughout. Sadly, no manual transmission is available.
