The 2022 Jeep Compass has only one engine option available as of now which is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder that produces 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. It is coupled with a nine-speed automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive is standard. All-wheel drive is optional on most trims except for the Sport, which only comes with front-wheel drive. The acceleration of the Jeep Compass may need some improvement as it currently takes 8.1 seconds to reach 60 mph from a standstill. However, it more than makes up for the fuel economy. The fuel economy is decent for the class, getting up to 26 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway with front-wheel drive. The all-wheel-drive model gets slightly less at 24 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. Off-roading is where the Jeep Compass shines. It has standard features like hill descent control and Selec-Terrain system, which lets you choose between different drive modes (snow, sand, mud) to better suit the terrain. The Trailhawk trim comes with even more off-roading goodies like all-terrain tires, skid plates, and a raised suspension. If you plan on doing any serious off-roading, the Compass is an excellent choice. Contact us at Energy Dodge to learn more about the engine capabilities of the 2022 Jeep Compass.
