Paired with a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission and AWD, it can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in only 3.5 seconds. It also earned a Quarter-Mile Time Certification of 11.5 seconds from the National Hot Rod Association.
On the other hand, the Explorer Platinum is equipped with a significantly smaller 3.0-litre turbocharged V6. This motor is partnered with 10-speed automatic transmission and either RWD or AWD. However, it completed the same acceleration course in 5.5 seconds. That’s quite a bit slower than the Durango.
Keep in mind that the Durango SRT Hellcat also comes with a competition suspension system, adaptive damping, high performance exhaust, a revised cooling system, and many other enhancements that help improve the total output.
