When it comes to SUV power, no other model can do it quite like the 2021 Dodge Durango. Even the 2021 Kia Telluride doesn't stand a chance.
This is because every Telluride is moved by a 3.8-litre V6 engine. Mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission and your choice of FWD or AWD, it makes 291 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. There are no other options.
Meanwhile, the Durango offers a full lineup of motors to pick from based on your trim level. The first three (SXT, GT, and Citadel) are fitted with Canada's favourite 3.6-litre V6 that delivers 295 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Then, the athletic R/T comes with a 5.7-litre HEMI V8. Producing 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque, it has Variable Valve Timing and a multi-displacement system. Next is the SRT 392. With a 6.4-litre HEMI V8 rumbling under the hood, it generates 475 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. Lastly, the top-tier SRT Hellcat is paired with a 6.2-litre supercharged HEMI V8 that pumps out an astonishing 710 hp and 645 lb-ft of torque.
