The 2023 Chrysler 300 is offered with a 3.6-liter V6 producing 292 hp engine, a 5.7-liter V8 producing 363 hp, or a 6.4-liter V8 producing 485 hp engine. Standard equipment includes a rear-wheel drive and automatic eight-speed transmission, while all-wheel drive is reserved for the V6 engine.
Although the V6-powered models might not fetch the first prize in a drag race, they are more than capable of handling the demands of daily commutes. With the eight-speed transmission's rapid but smooth shifts, the sedan can get up to speed quickly and make quick passing moves on the highway. It takes around 6.5 seconds to make the sprint to 60 miles per hour. Yet, in order to make the most of the engine’s power, this V6 (called a "Pentastar" by Chrysler) needs to be revved to high levels.
The Hemi V8 engines solve this problem, but their poor gas mileage is a drawback. When prompted, these motors produce soft burbles and roars from the tailpipes and propel the vehicle with brisk authority. Chrysler claims the 300C's 6.4-liter V8 can accelerate the car from 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds.
